A vintage piece of Venetian travel history.
You're staying on the Lido, with Venice just across the lagoon and a boat waiting just outside the hotel door. Day one takes you through the crowds and canals around San Marco; day two you're headed for the beach, exploring the islands, watching all manner of boats crisscross the water between you and the city. Back at the hotel, your companions debate the evening's plans as another vaporetto pulls in — Venice is close enough to be irresistible, but the Lido has a life of its own.
Originally known as the Hotel Ortolanella, the building was expanded in 1925 and became the Albergo Riviera, welcoming the growing number of travelers discovering both Venice and the Lido.
This print is reproduced from a high-resolution scan of an original vintage luggage decal, preserving the typography, color and subtle character of the original piece.
